Welcome Aboard!
Take a look at the Research section to explore the work our group is doing. If you’re curious about getting involved, we invite you to complete this Student Onboarding Tutorial.
This tutorial is designed to introduce you to key topics in observational extragalactic astronomy while also helping you build some Python skills. Whether you dream of becoming a professional astronomer, enjoy stargazing as a hobby, or are simply fascinated by space, this is for you!
Each section includes short YouTube videos, brief topic summaries, textbook readings, and self-evaluation questions. You’re welcome to go at your own pace—spending as much or as little time as you’d like. However, if you’re seriously considering research, we encourage you to thoroughly complete all readings and self-evaluation questions to get the most out of the experience. Each section typically takes about an hour.
Once you’ve completed the tutorial, if you’re eager to dive deeper into astronomy research techniques, we invite you to continue to the Launchpad.
